Why Your Adhesive Equipment Needs Preventative Maintenance

December 10, 2019

By now you know that we not-so-lovingly call unplanned downtime on the production line caused by adhesive equipment issues “glue-mergencies”. Nobody wants to see time and money wasted. So, what can you do?

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

To help keep your machines running smoothly our team can come to your facility and do a preventative maintenance (PM) check. Our standard PM process includes the following steps:

1. First, we depressurize the system so we can safely work our way through a visual check of your equipment, parts and settings to see which components need repair and which are in good condition.

2. Then, we clean the inside and outside of the tank, replace filters, replace worn down parts as necessary, and clean applicator heads.

3. Finally, we fill the equipment with your adhesive and run a test to ensure the system is working properly.

Why are these three steps so critical to the health of your equipment? By taking the time to give your equipment a visual check and clean each component, you’re setting it up to have the longest possible life cycle. It’s the same reason you take your car in for an oil change and go to the doctor for an annual checkup. Not only does your adhesive equipment need this TLC, it deserves it!

When you regularly do adhesive equipment preventative maintenance, you’ll find that unexpected downtime is reduced or even eliminated altogether. The CGM team is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled when it comes to preventative maintenance. If you’re due for a checkup, give us a call today. We’ll be there to help save you from the drama of a world without glue!
