CGM Employee Spotlight: Nirel Inman
How long have you been with CGM?
I have been on the CGM team for 26 years.
What’s your favorite part about your job?
Hands down the people. From our customers, our work family and everyone in between, it is the relationships, collaborations and achievements together that I value and enjoy the most.
Tell us the weirdest anecdote you have about glue.
I have never understood why almost everyone chooses to call removable grade pressure sensitive hot melt adhesives “booger” glue. Everyone seems to embrace and love saying it but for me it elicits a really gross image.
What does a typical Saturday look like for you?
Ducky, one of our border collies, and I head out to practice sheep herding. The rest of the day is errands, laundry, grocery shopping and enjoying being home with my husband and our three dogs. In the evening I may have friends over for dinner or go downtown for a show and to check out a new restaurant.
What motto do you live by?
What goes around comes around.
What’s your go-to snack?
Reese’s peanut butter cups from the freezer.
Tell us about your family.
My husband and I enjoy living in the Chicago suburbs with our three dogs. We met at a wedding in Disneyworld almost 10 years ago and have been together ever since. We love the convenience of the ‘burbs and how quickly we can get to all the fun activities in the city. We love going to the city regularly for everything from the Art Institute, Museum of Science and Industry, sporting events, concerts, to fancy restaurants or celebrity chefs as we are adventuresome foodies in training.
Where is your favorite vacation spot? Tell us about it.
We have yet to repeat a spot! We enjoy exploring new areas, meeting people, and learning about local traditions with each vacation. Our most recent vacation was to California and I found Napa to be just the right pace and setting for me. The internet connection was bad, making it easy to disconnect, and the land was beautiful. From the incredible live music festival, Bottlerock, to visiting local family businesses; mostly amazing wineries and restaurants, each having their own story, made for a memorable vacation with friends.
What’s your favorite movie or tv show?
It’s a toss-up between Grease, Airplane and Top Gun.
What’s on your music playlist?
Alanis Morissette. I am studying up for a girl’s trip to Austin, Texas to see her. It’ll be my first time visiting Austin!
